    According to a recent article in Realtor Magazine, 85 percent of buyers surveyed said that they would trade a variety of home amenities (including lot size, square footage, and home style) for a shorter and more manageable commute to work. In fact, 40 percent of the buyers surveyed said they were looking for a home that would shorten their commute time by 45 minutes.
