Here's What's Happening Around Town

We've compiled a short list of things going on around the Arlington/Mansfield area. We love to keep our current and future clients up to date on what's happening around them. If you have something you would like us to add, please send your suggestions to Meaghan - mkunkel@kw.com

Arlington

»On Tuesday (5/31/2016), city and community leaders joined together to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new George W. Hawkes Central Library in downtown Arlington. The library is expected to open in 2018. Click here for the full article.

»Have you heard about the new Rangers ballpark? Yes, I said it, NEW BALLPARK! Not like there is anything wrong with our current one, but this is Texas, right? Everything's gotta be bigger!  I found this interesting article from the Dallas Morning News that puts everything into persepective. The plan is to have it up and running in 5 years, it will most likely hold less fans than Globe Life does currently and there is still no public mass transit in Arlington.

Mansfield

»There is going to be a new overpass at E Broad Street and Hwy 360. The work is expected to begin this month. With Mansfield growing as fast as it is, officials are trying to keep traffic to a minimum. The project will be taking place during this year's Rockin' 4th of July, so be sure to check out this video showing detours. You can also visit www.drive360south.com for a complete project visualization.

»Don't know where to toss your batteries, aerosol cans, used cooking oil or light bulbs? Don't head for your trash can!! Head out to Mansfield's Household Hazardous Waste Dropoff on June 11 from 10:00am to 3:00pm!! The Environmental Collection Center is the City's permanent drop off facility for unwanted household hazardous materials (anything with a warning label), electronics and recyclables. All participants are asked to remain in their vehicles - there will be staff onsite to remove materials from your vehicle. Proof of Mansfield residency is required! Materials from businesses will be turned away. Click here to view the full list of acceptable & unacceptable hazardous materials, here for electronics and here for regular/everyday recyclables.
