Natural Ways To Keep Mosquitoes Away
Summer is here! Barbeques, pools, family vacations and ........ mosquitoes.
If you have pets and/or little ones running around, you probably don't have
the time or the energy to fill up a citronella tiki torch every time you step outside.
We have compiled a list of a few all-natural "mosquito hacks" so that you
and your family can enjoy your summer bite free!
→ Add 30 drops of lavender essential oil to 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (or olive oil)
and rub onto your skin.
Apparently mosquitoes do not enjoy the fresh scent of lavender. I don't know who found out
that information, but I'm not complaining!
→ BBQ'ing? Throw some rosemary stalks on the coals and it'll keep those tiny vampires away!
→ Build a bat house! Check out this great article from the National Wildlife Federation. It talks about
why building a bat house is not only good for you, but good for the bats too
and details how to build one too!
→ Try planting some mosquito repelling plants around your yard. Citronella, lemon balm, catnip
(yep! it's a plant too!), marigolds, basil, lavender, peppermint, pennyroyal, rosemary, geranium
and garlic gloves are all deterrents!
We hope this helps! Happy summer to you all!
